Bookmobile

Extension services to the greater Alliance community began with a Trailer Branch in 1938. The trailer cost less than $700 with all its modifications and was pulled by the local Package Delivery Truck. It could hold approximately 1000 volumes.

The Trailer Branch was replaced in 1949 with a Bookmobile costing approximately $6,738. It was capable of carrying a collection of about 2,000 volumes. From 1960 through the 70s, Rodman Library had two active Bookmobiles.

The current Bookmobile was purchased in 1985 for $92,000. It has a 3,000 volume capacity.
